Inventory Clerk
Location: Hillsborough, NJ
Duration: 6 months
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for performing administrative, clerical and support functions ensuring the accurate, efficient and timely recording of inventory in the warehouse.
Technical & operational skills required:
Perform required A and B counts from CC spreadsheet file:
Update CC spreadsheet file with new items (includes price and description from JDE)
Update obsolete items on CC spreadsheet file
Adjust counts under $2,000, if $2,000 +:
Perform recount, investigate receipts, investigate BOM's, investigate w/o's
Once investigation complete send to CI manager, Materials manager, Plant controller for approval
If $10,000+ need plant manager approval as well
Count FG's on weekend once a month. Update FG CC file with: physical count and any pertinent comments; JDE quantity; new items, including description/price from JDE
Look for components/raws when drivers cannot locate
Perform counts as requested by planners, buyers, and managers, regardless if count is required (as determined by cc spreadsheet file based on last count)
Perform II transactions requested by finance, planners or self discovered variances toBOM/W/O's
Perform consignment inventory monthly:
Enter consigned items recorded by receiving clerk into VMI tracking report during the month
Count consigned inventory monthly
Fill out consignment worksheet:
Beginning inventory plus receipts equals total inventory
Minus ending inventory equals usage
Compare usage to what was pulled in JDE
Compare physical count to availability in JDE
Difference in C has to match difference in D, this will be adjustment
In JDE, move items to stock in consignment processing
Enter release #'s and quantities from D above into VMI tracking report
Email completed VMI tracking report to client A/P, Berry Plastics, planner, and buyer
Upon receipt of QA reject document, move rejected material into 98-RJ
If QA supplies Return Authorization from vendor for reject, then work with receiving clerk for goods return
If QA supplies authorization for disposal from vendor, then dispose of material, or partner with logistics
Process debit memo in JDE and Excel to vendor for rejects; email Excel spreadsheet to client A/P, client Purchasing, Materials manager, Plant Controller, and vendor
Update locator from cycle counts
Update locator from move sheets.
Enter OG transaction requested by client A/P in order for A/P to take vendor credit
Enter ST/OT transactions for shipment of goods to client LC's, plants, etc.
Help initiate DC Link; troubleshoot handheld issues with Mark; provide spreadsheet of Belle Mead locations to Roy Taft and Dasko Label; enter all locations in JDE
Perform yearly physical and Price Waterhouse audits
Perform counts for receiving clerk when missing or incorrect tally sheets

Equipment operation:
The Inventory Clerk regularly operates the following equipment; personal computer and printer, Bar Code Scanner, telephone and fax, copier, lift truck equipment to include fork lift, pallet jacks and clamp equipment.
Physical & environmental requirements & conditions:
Position consists of equal time sitting at a computer terminal in an office environment and coordinating loading activities on a shipping dock. All work is performed indoors and lighting is good in the office, but varies in the warehouse and dock area. Temperature is comfortable. Noise levels are within acceptable NIOSH/OSHA acceptable limits. Ventilation is adequate. The pace of work environment is typical for a high volume warehouse/logistics operation handling an average of 40-45 outbound trucks.
Relations with others:
The Inventory Clerk has regular contact with; Belle Mead Planners, Logistics Operators, Packaging department team leaders and members, trucking company personnel, Logistic Center personnel in United States and Canada.
High School graduate
5+ years business experience in a fast-paced Distribution/Logistics environment
2+ years hands on experience with various windows based business software
Belle Mead Quality System, related SOPs and work instructions
Additional comments:
Extremely high degree of accuracy needed
Ability to work in a fast paced, flexible environment
Ability to work well with others as a "team player" to accomplish objectives is critical
Good interpersonal skills are essential
Must be fluent in English.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
